Pearl Jam
Camden. NJ 06/20/08

Pearl Jam piles it on for night 2 in Camden. Another fantastic set list met with over-the-top crowd energy as the band is once again completely in charge of their game. After the “Severed Hand” opener, it was another healthy slew of tour firsts—“Brain Of J,” “Nothing As It Seems,” “Thin Air”—mixed in crowd pleasers like “Animal” and “Dissident” from the Vs. album.

The tribal-like version of “W.M.A.” continues to swirl its way into almost a new song on this tour, and no doubt it was fully appreciated by this rabid crowd of hard-core tailgaters (ok, not everyone is an all day tailgating partier, but Camden is fairly well known for its share of them). But it was the unleashing of “Do The Evolution” followed by “Whipping” that turned the night into a churning frenzy of rock n’ roll madness.

The encores only enhanced the revelry of the evening, from the tour bust out of “Lukin” to the “Rearviewmirror” that spotlighted the guitar dueling and stirring interplay of Mike McCready and Stone Gossard. Returning for a second encore, it was time to blow everyone’s mind with the ‘Mamasan Trilogy’ of “Footsteps,” “Once” and “Alive,” followed by a typically blistering version of The Who’s “Baba O’ Riley.” If you were there, you know the magical feeling of the night. If you weren’t, this bootleg will take you directly there.
