We are happy to announce the release of Nicholas Payton and Sonic Trance performance at the IAJE Conference in New York City. Nicholas electrified jazz aficionados with a one-hour performance that captures the diversity of Nicholas’s sound. Ranging from Ragtime Swing to mariachi Nicholas takes a traversing snapshot of some of jazz’s finer points. One could compare his and his bands creativity to the likes of Miles Davis, however his talent stands on it’s own and this live recording is a perfect example of his talents not only in composition but in captaining the band that plays with him on a journey through what is good about jazz – fusion, funk, groove, swing, and a lot of love.
